LANSING - Michigan is scheduled on Dec. 1 to roll out a new tax on 20 very specific services, ranging from such weird jobs as baby show bronzing and fortune telling. Also targeted is the broad term called consulting, which is giving the state’s business community fits. Brendan Ringlever, with Butzel Long’s Government Affairs office in Lansing, talks about the new tax and the alternatives still under discussion in Lansing.
